Green Leaf Tree Care offers a full range of services in tree trimming, pruning, thinning, lacing, height reduction, complete removal, stump grinding, damage repair, hedging, shaping, and planting. We also provide consultation, annual maintenance and tree inventories. We serve both residential properties and commercial clients, including homeowner associations and local school districts.
A Family Business for Over 30 Years
In 1980, while living in the Midwest, Ted and Christine Huffman began Green Leaf as a sole proprietorship. Upon returning to Southern California in 1982, they became a leading tree and landscape service to the Inland Area for 16 years. In 1998, they brought the company to San Diego and “put down roots.” Green Leaf Tree Care currently serves San Diego and surrounding areas.

Constant communication is a vital aspect in the professionalism at Green Leaf. Honest and extensive evaluation of trees and property through both verbal and written communications, estimates, and emails, are foundational to our customer service policy. Customer satisfaction is always our goal.
Green Leaf Tree Care is dedicated to providing San Diego with quality workmanship in both the tree service industry and in landscape maintenance. With quality at the core of our business style, we have kept education in the green industry at the forefront for our crew members as well as for our clients. Cutting-edge research in standards for tree health and proper pruning is essential to our business philosophy, so that expectations and final results are the same for both worker and client.
Customer needs have also driven us into new areas of diversification. We have initiated a Weed Abatement & Fire Clearance division to service both commercial property and private residential. We now offer Monthly Landscape Maintenance services, and we have also added Plant Health Care & Consultation to our list, to provide specialized care to our valued customers.

We provide certification for all of our tree climbers through the International Society of Arboriculture.

I have been using Green Leaf Tree services for over six years and I am extremely well pleased. Ted gives an honest and thoughtful appraisal that shows his great knowledge of the trees themselves and what needs to be done to protect them and beatify them. Over the six years his crews have been outstanding. They are courteous, hard working, do the job exactly as promised and safely, and clean up thoroughly. Awesome Service and Results
I called Green Leaf to come out and trim and remove some trees. I was impressed at how knowledgeable and friendly they were! We hired them on the spot and they came within a week to do the job. The crew that came to do the work was professional, quick and did a wonderful job of cleaning up. They even made suggestions of other things to plant. This is the best company I have dealt with in a long time and I would definitely not hesitate to contact them again!!

Arborists Extraordinaire
Green Leaf Tree Care has trimmed a variety of mature trees for our 18 unit condominium complex for the past four years. I couldn't recommend them more highly. From the receptionist to the owner, the arborists to the men chipping the trimmings, they are true professionals. They have been working to correct the structure of some old olive trees on our property which had been poorly pruned in the past, and show a sincere interest in the appearance and health of the trees. We have found their prices to be competitive. If you are looking for a company that pays attention to detail and you can count on being there when they say they will, I would suggest you give them a try.

Great tree service
We have several large trees on our property and we have used Green Leaf Tree Care for several years when the trees need to be trimmed. Great tree service
We've used other tree services for our huge Ficus and Carrotwood trees, but none have been as quick or turned out as good as Green Leaf Tree Care. What took other companies 2 to 3 days to complete, they did in less than one day due to the number of people at the job.

Did a great job
Ted came out and spent quite about of time with me discussing our 60 ft. black acacia. It was, sadly, inevitable that it had to be removed. Ted worked with my schedule and sent out his crew the following week. They were professional, considerate, helpful and efficient. They left our yard, driveway & neighbor's driveway extremely clean when they left. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Green Leaf to anyone who needs care for their trees.

It could not have been better!
We had Green Leaf Tree Service take down a 30-foot Magnolia tree that has been in our backyard before my wife moved in 45 year ago. She was concerned about termites. Ted responded to our call right away and gave us an estimate. We accepted and he had his crew here within 2 weeks to take it down and haul it away. They had the entire job, including the grinding out of the stump, completed within 7 hours. His crew was friendly, used great safety methods in bringing it down and were very careful to not to any damage to our home or other property. It was a pleasure to watch such a professional crew make such a difficult job look easy.

Highly Recommended!
Prompt, Efficient and Friendly. We hired Green Leaf to remove a large Liquid Amber and grind down several large stumps in our yard. They did such a great job we hired them for an aggressive trim back on a couple of unruly Elms that were taking over our back yard. We couldn't be happier with the work that was done and would not hesitate to hire Green Leaf for any future tree needs! Ted's customer service is above and beyond most other companies!
